Made in the USA Standard
At A Glance
- Product must be sourced and manufactured in the U.S.
- Must meet FTC's "all or virtually all" standard
At Amerili.com, we are committed to showcasing exclusively American-made products, supporting U.S. manufacturers and jobs. All products listed on our marketplace must meet the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) strict “Made in the USA” standard to ensure authenticity and compliance.
FTC “Made in the USA” Requirements
To qualify as “Made in the USA” on Amerili.com, products must adhere to the FTC’s Enforcement Policy Statement on U.S. Origin Claims:
- Unqualified Claims: Products labeled “Made in the USA” must be “all or virtually all” made in the United States. This means final assembly, processing, and nearly all materials (by cost or value) must originate in the U.S., with negligible foreign content.
- Qualified Claims: If a product has significant foreign components but is substantially processed or assembled in the U.S., it may use qualified claims (e.g., “Assembled in the USA” or “Made in the USA with U.S. and Imported Parts”). Such claims must be clear, accurate, and substantiated.
- Substantiation: Vendors must provide competent and reliable evidence (e.g., supply chain records, cost breakdowns, or supplier certifications) to verify U.S. origin during registration and upon request.
Vendor Responsibilities
All products listed on Amerili.com must meet these FTC standards. Vendors must:
- Ensure final assembly and processing occur in the United States.
- Source nearly all materials from the U.S. for unqualified claims or clearly disclose foreign content for qualified claims.
- Submit documentation via the “Register New Vendor” form to confirm compliance.
Non-compliance may result in product removal, account suspension, or termination, as outlined in our Seller Policy and Code of Conduct.
Customers can report suspected violations via our Report a Product page, triggering a review.
